The hymn Ein’ feste Burg ist unser Gott ("A Mighty Fortress is Our God") was originally written by Martin Luther and is sometimes referred to as The Battle Hymn of the Reformation for its militant flavor. John Knowles Paine, organist and first Professor of Music at Harvard University, set the hymn in a marvelous organ Fantasia. Douglas Arndt has adapted Paine’s organ work for British Brass Band instrumentation. The arrangement features brilliant brass cascades, solemn sections, and powerful fugues!
